  15. <p>     DIED. PATRICK LIPPERT, 35, political activist; of AIDS complications;
  16. in Los Angeles. Lippert knew he was HIV-positive for the past
  17. two years, but managed to turn them into the two most productive
  18. years of his life. In the spring of 1991, as he learned of his
  19. infection, he was named executive director of Rock the Vote,
  20. a voter-registration drive targeted at young Americans. Assisted
  21. by an aggressive MTV campaign, Rock the Vote registered 350,000
  22. people, playing a pivotal role in the 18% increase in turnout
  23. among voters under 25 in last year's presidential election.
